Ready for a New School Year!
We have some wonderful news to share from Casa de Los Angeles.
Thanks to the generosity of our friends and supporters, we collected 42 backpacks filled with school supplies for children served by Casa de Los Angeles and the Lomas Altas Community Center.
We also received $700 to help provide school uniforms for local students.
The uniform funds will be deposited with a local school uniform store, and families will receive vouchers they can use to purchase the specific uniform their child needs. That means families can get the correct uniform for their child’s school and in the right size, while ensuring that every dollar given for uniforms goes directly toward helping a student.
More Than Backpacks and Uniforms
Together, these gifts mean children in Lomas Altas can begin the school year with the clothes and school materials they need to be fully prepared.
Starting school with a new backpack, the right supplies, and a proper uniform helps a child walk into the classroom feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn. For families facing financial challenges, taking care of these basic needs can make a very real difference.
